You are right. There are some who want the 'aesthetics' of dating. However that's not the only thing they want. I don't see anything wrong with being treated nicely once in a while. If you happen to find someone who harps on being swept away to a romantic setting or want you to bring them gifts every time you see them then beware. I haven't read the balance of your comments so you may have addressed other areas.

It seems that more than a few women are looking for men that will promise “flowers, poetry, picnics,moonlit nights and walks along the beach, etc” But I say that a lot of men try to “hook” women by promising romance, candlelight, and what I call the “aestetics of dating” but when it comes to everyday life, disappointment follows as the “moonlight motivation” meanders into mediocrity be cause of the moments of mundaneness (Ok I will stop with the alliteration! :).
