Is he a member of our site? What is his alias? Please contact me and let me know the details.
Did he ask you for any money for his airfare? Did he tell you he had a great price on the ticket, but you had to send him the money to buy the airfare? Did have you cash any money orders for him or ask you to?
Nigerian scammers always say they're from another country, but traveling to Nigeria on business. Then there is typically something they need from you... for you to cash a check for them, or they can't get out of the country without your help as they can't get cash, or they were in an accident and hospital won't relinquish their passport unless you help them pay the bill.
These scammers will conduct this sincere romance scam for months at a time, waiting for the jackpot.
Please be specific on what, if any money, was requested or sent to this man. Please provide details so we can know what he said to you that may definitely help us help you decide if he was a scammer or not.
What country did he say he was from? If U.S., did he have a U.S. telephone number? I always ask them to provide me their U.S. phone number from the city and state they claim to be from. I then never hear from them again.

I went to the airport to meet a man whom I have been in contact with since May. He really wanted to see me, but I couldn't find him at the airport and I don't know what has happened. He sent me the itinerary and everything on it is ok. The airline is not allowed to tell if he came with this flight or not. I am wondering if something has happened to him. He was on a job assignment in Nigeria and had finished his work there. Please, pray that I would find out what has happened to him. I am so worried. I can't imagine that he did this on purpose to me. He seemed to be so sincere. Thank you for praying!
