I am sorry, but I too am handicapped. I have helped fight for the handicapped within our country, but you are wrong if you say that there are no programs out there to fix your roof and other things as there are. You have to contact your ADA and they will help you find the help that you need.
Don't despair that ADA was put into order to help the handicapped.

hello,
i've never posted anything on here and do not want to "break any rules" by doing anything wrong. my problem and request is as follows. i wonder if any members here are social workers or know of anyone who is. see, in a nutshell, i am only on disability and i'm in a mobile home (not trailer) and the roof is leaking over the heater. a very trusted handy man said i must get a new roof as it will not last the winter. i have no money to do anything as disability doesn't even pay all the utility bills. so....my question is this. does anyone know of any NATIONAL PROGRAMS out there which can help me get a new roof put on? i am in wayne county in michigan and it's the poorest county and the most populated. thus, all the funding is gobbled up immediately by mothers with kids. i was told at least 20 times yesterday when i called EVERY phone number possible that i do not qualify since i'm just a "good Christian lady with ethics" and no children out of wedlock. they told me there is no funding for the disabled or elderly. i just can't do it alone. i need assistance, via a social worker, to dig up some positive information on who can help me get a new roof put on. so, if anyone out there knows of anyone who will 100% help me gain this information, please do let me know who can help me.
also, please pray for me that this will be taken care of. it has been one horrible catastrophe after another these last 2 years.....
